CAMPAIGN AGAINST LOWERING THE AGE OF SEX CONSENT-UAF 2019

On 25th March 2019, judges Roselyn Nambuye, Daniel Musinga and Patrick Kiage of the court of appeal in Kenya proposed a law change to lower the age of sexual consent from 18 years to 16 years. CRAWN Trust partnered with the Judiciary, the Attorney General’s office, The Lady Justice Njoki Ndung’u, COVAW, Hifadhi Hub and other actors in the campaign against lowering the age of sex consent from 18 to 16, based on the laws recognition of anyone under the age of 18 to be a child.
