Women’s Economic Empowerment
One of CRAWN Trust’s strategic areas is WEE, whose ripple effect is their social and political emancipation.
WEE Project On What Works For Women
CRAWN Trust is working in partnership with the University of Nairobi WEE Hub (housed under the AWSC- African Women Study Center). The WEE project project is aimed at ensuring the increased growth of women’s enterprises, joint dissemination and advocacy of research findings on WEE in Kenya (one of the strategies used by both institutions is research for the generation of evidence to advance WEE) which is aimed at advancing women’s socio-economic rights and sensitisation of duty bearers for support in the implementation of various gender responsive recommendations on WEE
CRAWN Trust is currently implementing the project in eight of the WEE Hub’s 15 select counties; Kajiado, Nakuru, Kiambu, Kitui, Kisumu, Siaya, Nairobi and Mombasa
